Daily Mindful Exercising – you choose!
Yoga
As the practice of Yoga continues to grow in the Western cultures, too often the true essence of Yoga is overseen – in the ancient language of India, Sanskrit, yoga means “union”. This refers to the integration of mind and body to bring one in touch with their inner spiritual self as a natural whole. So, the practice of Yoga goes well beyond providing physical fitness and body toning, it is also a powerful means to exercise the mind.Depending on the participant’s level and their individual needs from Yoga, there will be different yoga offerings, whether you are seeking a rigorous workout or a more traditional practice based on postures (known as asanas), breathing and meditation. There are different Yoga diciplines based on Hatha Yoga which we will be bringing to our wellness vacationers. In Discoverweal’s constant pursuit for innovative ideas and practices to bring to our customers, we are pleased to introduce Colorgized Yoga by Spectral Journeys in our program – the infusion of color healing and positive affirmations to yoga asanas allows the flow of energy to rise from the root to the crown chakra.
Tai Chi
Made up of sets, a sequence of martial arts movements, Tai Chi is performed in a slow, smooth, gracefully controlled manner. It is often considered meditation in motion, despite the combat nature of martial arts movements. In Chinese philosophy, “chi” is a vital force that animates the body, and through the practice of Tai Chi, the “chi” is circulated around the body for increased health and vitality. Here too the mind is exercised to bring about a sense of serenity and calmness while focusing on the precise execution of the movements. There are different styles of Tai Chi that have taken the names of the teachers from which these have originated. Here too different levels will be offered.
Nia
An acronym for Neuromuscular Integrative Action, Nia encompasses martial arts, dance arts and healing arts. Supportive of the pleasure principle, “if it feels good keep doing it, if it hurts, stop”, Nia is adaptable to every level of fitness, age and body shape. Created by Debbie and Carlos Rosas, the Nia Technique has been expanding in popularity worldwide as a practice to achieving physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual fitness and well being.
Meditation
The pace of modern living has added a lot of pressure on peoples’ daily lives and little time remains, if at all, for one’s self. There are numerous meditation techniques that can help bring some inner peace and serenity, vital for re-energizing and for dealing with stressful situations. Alone or as part of ones exercise routine, the art of meditation is a powerful prevention modality that can contribute significantly to living a happy and healthy life.
